This design increases the cooling system’s capacity as well as improving its efficiency, allowing it to retain lower running temperatures compared to an original unit during prolonged or hard use. It’s also suited to modified or track orientated vehicles that operate with constant higher temperatures, or for hotter climate countries, where cooling can be an issue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDesigned as a direct replacement item, fitting is a simple process, making it a great addition to improve cooling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTESTED \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn June 2025, we attended a two day, back-to-back test in order to collect data as part of the track testing programme for our newly developed E9x M3 cooling package; in particular the radiator and power steering cooler. For this, we used our \u003cstrong\u003eAIRTEC Motorsport\u003c\/strong\u003e demonstrator vehicle, which is equipped with an uprated exhaust system and sports cats, a remap, KW V3 suspension, AP Racing brakes and a semi-slick tyre set up, among other modifications and driven by this season’s \u003cstrong\u003eTime Attack\u003c\/strong\u003e driver Alan Shepherd. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first day would entail data logging with the standard radiator in place, before swapping over to our \u003cstrong\u003eAIRTEC Motorsport \u003c\/strong\u003eradiator for the next day and repeating the same process. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin-left:0px\"\u003e\u003cimg decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.airtecmotorsport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/10\/20250615162520-f9c74013-me-1.jpg\" width=\"567\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEach radiator was run for two track sessions and coolant temperature was measured with an external thermocouple sensor with an advanced sampling rate. This allowed the use of a triple pass core design to allow the coolant to pass through the radiator three times before it exits, with capacity increased to a huge 23.3 litres, compared to the original 7.7 litres; a gain of 203%.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDespite the huge cooling capacity increase that allows the chargecooler system to run cooler for longer, the radiator fits neatly behind the bumper and requires no modifications to fit, using the OEM mounts and the original coolant connectors. By utilising the available space, we developed a replacement radiator that’s wider and thicker. This means capacity is increased by a huge 67% over standard, whilst frontal area is also increased  to help sufficiently cool the extra capacity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe core also features a quadruple pass design, which forces coolant entering it to pass up and down the core four times before it exits, increasing the time the coolant passes through the radiator to further decrease temperatures.
