Stop Pushing the Wrong Brands Without Real Testing
Stop Pushing the Wrong Brands Without Real Testing
Let’s cut the fluff, the car scene is drowning in bad advice. Dealers, influencers, and these so-called “test groups” are pushing parts like they are gospel, not because those parts are truly the best, but because it benefits them. That is not testing, that is sales, and it is why so many people end up buying into hype instead of facts.
I’m a Dealer, and I Know the Game
You guys know me by now, I don’t BS. I am a dealer, and I have been around long enough to see how this game works. If I test a part, install it on my car, and then recommend it to you, let’s be honest, that benefits me in the end because I am selling it. Of course I would want to lead you toward that part. That is why dealers should not be the ones “proving” anything.
Testing should be done by neutral parties and the community, not by someone who profits off the outcome. That is the only way you get results that are not biased.
Hype Doesn’t Equal Quality
A product does not become “the best” just because it is plastered all over Facebook groups or hyped by the same few voices. Real testing means more than installing it and saying it feels faster and is "track tested". If you want to call something the best or simply, you need:
- Back to back dyno runs in the same conditions
- Data logs showing airflow, temps, AFR, and boost
- Oil analysis over time to track engine wear
- Daily driving and track miles to see if it really holds up
Anything less is just opinion, and opinion does not protect your motor.
Watch Out for Paid “Testing”
There are groups online right now “testing” parts while getting free gear or checks from the same companies. Notice they are selling parts now also? That is not neutral, that is paid marketing. Most people do not even realize they are being funneled into whatever brand is paying to be there. That is why you see the same names being pushed over and over again, whether they earned it or not.
My Take
I am not here to hype one brand, I am not here to sell you snake oil. If I can source the part you want, awesome. If I can’t, I’ll tell you to hit up Two Step Performance, they are good people and they carry plenty of parts that I do not. Either way, I am giving you facts, not fluff.
The community deserves better than dealers pretending to be neutral testers. My job is to get you the parts with facts not opinion, the job of proving what actually works belongs to independent testers and the community that runs these cars every day.
Final Word
If you want facts and honesty, hit me up. If you have had a bad experience with another vendor, reach out and vent. I am here for your builds, not for the money. You all know I am not doing this to line my pockets. I am a full time firefighter in a busy city and a retired Veteran. I do not need this industry to survive, I do it because I love these cars, this community, and doing things the right way.
So the next time you see someone hyping a part without any data, question it. Demand proof, ask for results, and do not settle for marketing spin. Your motor deserves better than hype.

“I swapped from GruppeM to the Infinity Design intake and instantly felt the difference in throttle response. Fitment was dead on, and the quality blew me away. Definitely the best carbon intake on the market right now.”
