PRL Motorsports High Volume Intake System | 2017-2025 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost

The factory 3.5L EcoBoost intake is built around emissions and noise targets, not airflow. Once you start asking for more out of the twin-turbo V6, the OEM airbox and tubing become the choke point. PRL's High Volume Intake System replaces the entire factory tract with a purpose-built setup that feeds each turbocharger directly through its own 4-inch roto-molded runner.

The oversized airbox nearly doubles the volume of the OEM unit and seals to the underside of the hood, drawing cooler ambient air instead of recirculated engine bay heat. High-flow cotton and steel mesh filters with integrated bell-mouth inlets mount inside the box and smooth inlet velocity into each turbo. Stepped silicone couplers and gently curved tube routing keep flow consistent from filter to compressor.

On a 2018 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost, dyno testing showed +8 horsepower and +12 lb-ft of torque at 4000 RPM, +8 horsepower and +8 lb-ft at 6000 RPM, and +22 horsepower and +17 lb-ft at redline compared to stock. Peak gains were +5.5 horsepower and +3.86 lb-ft. Stacked with a PRL Intercooler, gains at redline climbed to +50 horsepower and +40 lb-ft of torque, with power separating from stock around 5300 RPM.

Hardware is bolt-on. No cutting, no trimming, no permanent modification of the engine bay. Fitment covers F-150 3.5L EcoBoost and 2017-2025 Raptor models. PowerBoost hybrid trucks are not supported.

Features & Benefits

Dual 4-Inch Roto-Molded Intake Runners: Each turbocharger gets its own dedicated 4-inch runner instead of sharing a single OEM tube. Equalized airflow to both compressors means more consistent boost response and less restriction at high RPM.

Hood-Sealed High Volume Airbox: The roto-molded HDPE airbox nearly doubles factory volume and seals against the underside of the hood, isolating the filters from hot engine bay air. Cooler, denser intake charge translates to more usable power, especially in summer heat.

Bell-Mouth High-Flow Filters: Cotton and steel mesh filters with integrated bell-mouth inlets sit directly inside the airbox. The bell-mouth shape smooths air entry and reduces turbulence ahead of each turbo inlet.

5-Layer Reinforced Silicone Couplers: Application-specific silicone couplers connect each runner to the OEM turbo inlets. Five-layer construction with 304 stainless clamps holds seal under boost without ballooning or splitting.

Stepped Silicone Transitions: Stepped couplers smooth the diameter changes between airbox, runners, and turbo inlets. The result is a flow path with fewer pressure drops between filter and compressor.

True Bolt-On Install: The kit drops in using factory mounting points with no cutting or trimming. Stainless steel brackets, rubber grommets, and a full hardware pack are included to lock everything down to OEM standards.

Serviceable Filter Layout: Both filters mount directly to the airbox, so pulling them for inspection or cleaning is a quick job. No need to disconnect runners or remove the entire box to service the elements.

Raptor Compatibility: The same kit fits 2017-2025 Raptor models in addition to standard F-150 3.5L EcoBoost trucks. PowerBoost hybrid F-150 models are not covered by this fitment.
