The 2002-2005 Honda Civic Si is a few upgrades away from being a true weapon. We find that a stiffer engine mount set and our shifter and shifter cable upgrades get the EP3 racing in the right direction. Using both the Hybrid Racing EP3 Shifter and Cables in combination with the 75A Durometer Innovative Mounts, the EP3 Shifter & Mount Upgrade gets your chassis dialed in for both the street and track. Short Shifts for Quicker DrivesThe shifter's frame is constructed from TIG-welded, powder-coated, 1000 Series steel. The upper, lower, and side rocker assemblies are made from a single piece of 6061 aluminum, and feature custom-sealed ball bearings to reduce friction and require less physical effort to row through gears. Shift throw adjustment is achieved using two threaded cable attachment pins allowing you to dial in the exact throw that suits your shifting style. Each attachment pin features a wear-resistant Delrin pivot cap for sturdy, quiet operation.Our new V2 design uses a heavy-duty internal spring replacing the torsion-centering spring for better-centering action and a more direct feel. The lower pivot ball is now made of stainless steel which sits inside of a durable Delrin cup. The side pivot arm now comes with a heavy-duty stainless spherical bearing for increased performance and smoothness. The front/back throw and left/right throw can be adjusted independently. Are these cables a direct replacement for my OEM EP3 style cables? Yes! For EP3 Chassis the only extra work that is needed will be to retrofit the original cable grommet onto the new HR cables. The OEM cable that controls the right/left motion of the shifter has been upgraded from a plastic twist-lock bushing to aluminum bushings and spring clips. This aluminum bushing simplifies installation a bit, but more importantly, it gets rid of yet another plastic part that tends to flex on the OEM cables, leading to a sloppy feeling shift. The extra spring clip that you will need to install the Hybrid Racing cables is included with the cables, so you will not need to buy any other parts.
